Hello! We’re Daniel and Shahzore, two guys with a little girl and a cat in St. Paul, Minnesota. We began learning how incredible an open adoption could be when we welcomed Charlotte into the world at the hospital with her birth mother in 2017. We’d love to bring another child home into our family. We are working with Children’s Home Society/Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota and are approved to adopt through their Domestic Infant program.
Daniel

Daniel was born in Armenia, Colombia and adopted by his parents in Minneapolis. He grew up in Minneapolis in a household of primarily Czech American heritage. He remembers his great aunts making kolache and accordions playing at family gatherings near the old farmstead. His mother is a teacher and his father an architect. He did quite a bit of traveling growing up and extensive world travel in college and grad school as a student of architecture. Daniel has a strong group of friends from every stage of his life. He maintains friendships from his years as a toddler growing up in Minneapolis as well as friends he’s made at the neighborhood coffee shop. He visits extended family in South Dakota and Iowa, and he hopes to connect with his Colombian family someday. Daniel still loves to travel, explore innovative design and enjoy delicious meals.
Shahzore

Shahzore was born in Chicago, IL to a musician from Minnesota (mother) and poet from India (father). He is the second of four, all brothers, in his family. Shahzore’s parents divorced pretty early on, and he grew up primarily in Stillwater, MN with frequent visits to a section of Chicago that could be called Little India. Shahzore was the one you’d hear singing around the house all the time and speaking French. He got serious about both in high school and college, and his first serious international trips were to study French in Senegal and teach music in Haiti. After college, performing took Shahzore around the world. One of the best perks of travel was staying in touch with friends and family from all stages of Shahzore’s life. He often calls a friend or relative on the way to a city and is rewarded with an overnight stay full of catching up and laughing together, and always a delicious meal together.
Charlotte

Charlotte was born in Mankato, MN in July, 2017. In addition to her two dads, their extended family and extensive community of friends, she is developing a positive relationship with her birth mother and birth father and has met members of her birth mother’s family. Charlotte is a happy, energetic, very curious 2-year-old.
George
George, age 6, is the resident British Short-hair in our household. He’s very sociable, a playful big brother to Charlotte, a pumpkin-eyed prince, and a total ham.
Our Home

With flowers in the front and vegetable gardens in the back yard, our home is nestled in a welcoming Saint Paul neighborhood. We are a short walk from a park with playground, libary and rec center, restraurants, a two screen movie theater, an elementary school, a Dairy Queen, bike trails, Minnehaha Falls and the Mississippi River, the list goes on and on. We love our neighborhood and intend on setting perminant roots here.
Additionally, the Twin Cities are home to many of our close family and friends. We are short walk or drive from life long friends and supportive family, all of whom eagerly await the expansion of our family.
